Why do cats knock things over?

cat-table-knock-over-653x0_q80_crop-smart

If you have a cat, odds are your kitty has knocked glasses, knickknacks and other items off virtually every surface in your home. It may seem like your feline friend is simply trying to annoy you, but while you may be part of the reason why your cat engages in this activity, there’s more to this behavior than meets the eye.

The hunting instinct is one reason your pet takes a paw to everything from paperweights to picture frames.

Cats paw at objects just like they would prey, so your cat may toy with the glass on the edge of the counter simply to hone her hunting instincts and see what happens when she gives it a bat.

Coffee Now Served In Actual Cups on Space Station

dnews-files-2015-12-space-coffee-151207-jpg

We all know how essential that morning cup of coffee is. Spacelings on the International Space Station, however, have to enjoy it differently.

Because coffee and other fluids go everywhere in microgravity, typically they sip their morning Joe in a contained container, using a straw. That could finally change after successful preliminary tests of six cups in microgravity that are apparently so stable with their liquids that you can even toss them a short distance. Cats AND Coffee? Time to move!

I have found the mother ship.

Whaaaat? Did you say cats AND coffee?!!! Apparently I need to move to Seattle now.  Kinda stinks, because personally I’m Panthers fan, but what can you do?

SEATTLE — Want to hang out with furry feline friends? Seattle’s first cat café is set to open later this month in the Wallingford neighborhood.
The three University of Washington students who created Seattle Meowtropolitan say they wanted to create a café and community hangout for people and cats.
Their motivation was to serve people who love cats and while helping save animals.

Predicting Your Future With Turkish Coffee

Ummmmm….Turkey…..COFFEE!

My psychic powers tell me….hmmmmmm…..ba la la….hmmmm… that when you go to Turkey and get a cup of coffee you will instantly fall in love….with it. Seriously. No psychic powers needed. It’s to die for. I’ve been there. I still have dreams about those gazillion little cups I consumed in a few short weeks.

Two women sit across from each other, a small cup, turned over onto its saucer, is in front of them. The smell of rich, roasted coffee permeates the air. As one woman carefully flips the cup over and gazes into its void, the other asks, “Will I be able to find my one true love?” Call it corny, call it a farce, but predicting one’s future by reading coffee grounds is one of the oldest fortune-telling practices in the world — and one of the most widely practiced to this day.

Caffeine-free coffee shop is sign of the apocalypse

There’s a time and a place for decaf: never and in the trash….
